The Lineage of the Machine: Our Story

In 1985, the automotive world looked very different. It was a world of vacuum lines, carburetors, and purely mechanical intuition. That was the year Chuck’s Auto Shop Inc. opened its bays in Bend. We didn’t start as a "specialty boutique"; we started as a shop that respected the machine—whatever it was, however it broke, we had the discipline to fix it.

Forty Years of Evolution

Since that first day in '85, the industry has undergone a total transformation. We have watched the mechanical simplicity of the vintage Land Rover and Jaguar give way to the digitized, high-voltage complexity of the modern Hybrid and Electric era.

Many shops got left behind by that transition. We leaned into it.

Because we grew up on the "bones" of the internal combustion engine, we have a foundational understanding that modern shops lack. We don't just "read codes" on a Tesla or a hybrid Toyota; we understand the physics of the drivetrain and the chemistry of the battery. We are a heritage shop that isn't stuck in the past—we are a heritage shop that used 40 years of experience to master the future.

The Collection Standard

Over the decades, we became the trusted stewards for Central Oregon’s most discerning car collectors. When a vehicle is a person’s most prized possession—whether it’s a ground-up Jaguar restoration or a rare vintage Ford—there is no room for "good enough."

This "Collection Standard" defines everything we do. We realized that if our clients trust us with their rarest, most valuable investments, it is only natural that we apply that same elite level of care to their daily drivers.

Who We Are Today

Today, we have grown beyond just British cars of the 80’s, today we diagnose and repair European, German, American and Asian cars with an adept capability for Hybrid and Electric vehicles. Today, Chuck’s Auto Shop Inc. stands as a bridge between generations. We are the destination for the driver who wants the honesty of a 1980s garage combined with the diagnostic rigor of a modern engineering lab.
