Forensic Automotive Electrical, Network & Computer Diagnostics
Scientific root-cause circuit isolation and digital bus analysis in Bend, OR. We do not replace parts on speculation—we verify physical circuit integrity, signal latency, and component behavior at the hardware level.
Dual J2534 Factory Flashing
Modern replacement modules require direct OEM synchronization. Operating dual redundant J2534 stations via the Autel MaxiFlash VCMI and Drew Tech CarDAQ-Plus 3, we flash factory firmware, configure variant coding, and initialize immobilizers directly through authorized portals (Ford, GM, Toyota, Porsche, Land Rover).
High-Speed Scope Metrology
Deploying multi-channel digital storage oscilloscopes (PicoScope and 4-channel VCMI suite) sampling at megahertz bandwidth. We capture live voltage and current ramps to verify cam-to-crank correlation, injector coil saturation profiles, and primary/secondary ignition burn times without invasive mechanical teardown.
Hybrid & EV Battery Telemetry
Equipped with the Autel MaxiSYS EVDiag suite for high-voltage system analysis. We execute state-of-health (SoH) audits, cell-level voltage variance mapping, off-board battery pack analysis, and temperature sensor testing across hybrid and full-electric vehicle platforms.
Multiplex Bus Interrogation
A single corrupted transceiver or water-damaged module can crash shared networks. We decode physical square waves across CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and DoIP architectures, utilizing dedicated breakout boxes to isolate bus short-circuits and termination faults while safeguarding factory terminal pin tension.
High-Voltage Drive Safety
Utilizing calibrated megohmmeters and precision multimeters to execute insulation resistance audits. We evaluate AC drive motor windings, test inverter sub-circuits, and isolate high-voltage chassis leakage to meet rigorous SAE high-voltage safety standards.
Milliamp Parasitic Drain Tracing
Parasitic battery drains are isolated using calibrated current clamps and closed-circuit micro-voltage drop analysis across active fuse arrays. This non-invasive diagnostic pinpoint parasitic loads without disturbing factory network sleep cycles or resetting vehicle modules.
Legacy Serial Protocol Interrogation (OBD-1 & Pre-1996)
Our diagnostic scope covers classic computerized platforms. Leveraging dedicated legacy hardware suites—including the Snap-on MT2500 platform paired with modern gas analyzers and lab scopes—we extract raw serial data streams, balance dwell and mixture, and test early electronic engine management systems across classic domestic, European, and Japanese platforms.

Skip the guesswork and speculative parts swapping. Have our certified diagnostic technicians analyze your multiplex network, high-voltage battery, or parasitic draw.
Frequently Asked Electrical & Network Questions
Why do new computer modules require factory J2534 pass-thru programming?
Modern vehicle control units (ECMs, TCMs, BCMs) are delivered blank from the manufacturer without vehicle-specific calibrations. Through our certified J2534 pass-thru stations (Drew Tech CarDAQ-Plus 3 and Autel MaxiFlash VCMI), we download the direct OEM calibration file, perform variant encoding, and synchronize the vehicle's immobilizer keys.
How do you locate battery drains without pulling fuses?
Pulling fuses interrupts power and wakes up the vehicle’s CAN network, restarting sleep timers and invalidating test results. We measure micro-voltage drop across the exposed test points of each fuse while circuits remain closed. By converting millivolt readings to milliamp draw via Ohm's Law, we isolate the discharging module without disrupting bus sleep states.
Can one faulty module shut down the entire vehicle communication network?
Yes. In multiplexed serial bus topologies (such as CAN High and CAN Low), all control units share the same twisted-pair network. If a single module develops an internal short or a wet connector, it can pull down network voltages, corrupting data packets for all other control units and causing multiple dashboard warnings or a complete no-start condition.
